Dan currently serves as the President and CEO of Spectrum Business Resources, LLC, where he is responsible for all aspects of member business financial services for associate and member credit unions in the Chicago area representing over $1 billion in total assets. He has over 25 years of experience in commercial banking.
Prior to Spectrum Business Resources, Dan Bleil joined New Century Bank in 2000 as First Vice President of Business Banking. Dan was responsible for developing and managing the Business Banking initiative, which focused on owner-operated businesses. Dan was formerly Chief Relationship Manager with thebizbank.com, where he established the strategic direction for a start-up e-commerce business focused on meeting the financial needs of small businesses. Prior to that, he was with Cole Taylor for over 15 years, a $3 billion multi-bank holding company, most recently as Group Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives where he designed, implemented, and managed the Bank’s first telephone and Internet delivery based branch-less banks. As Group Senior Vice President of Retail Banking, Dan was responsible for managing the transition of a 10-branch retail delivery channel from a transaction-based approach to a sales oriented high performing retail bank. He also served as the Group Senior Vice President Small Business Banking for Cole Taylor Bank with responsibilities for the development of the Bank’s small business initiative. This division developed and managed over 6,000 business relationships with over $90 million in loans outstanding and became the second most profitable division. Other responsibilities with Cole Taylor included serving on the Bank’s board of directors, management responsibility for commercial lending for one of the Bank offices, developing the market for a new branch office in Chicago’s west loop, acting as a voting member of the Loan Committee, and participating in strategic planning and direction for the Bank.
Dan has a Bachelor of Science degree in English Literature from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee.
